Spring is fantastic. Seriously, everyday I see the sun and feel myself transforming, shedding my winter shell. Also, the lake is getting a little warmer so I find myself staying in a bit longer (emphasis on a bit). Anyway, I also LOVE warmer weather because I feel less crazy drinking all of my beloved icy smoothies. Speaking of smoothies…
I am so bad at WIAW posts. Why? Because I always forget to record my meals. HOWEVER, this week I’m giving myself an A for effort, since I recorded my morning and afternoon snacks but missed my evening carb fest. Not featured? A green tea froyo, a VEGA smoothie and 1/2 an avocado. To make up for it, I thought I’d share the smoothie I make for myself twice a day (for breakfast and after lifting weights in the afternoon). It’s delicious and simple. Enjoy!
Berry Cream Smoothie
1/2 cup frozen strawberries
1/2 cup frozen blueberries
1 scoop Cookies and Cream protein powder (Vanilla works too)
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp ginger
1/2 cup almond milk (I use Vanilla Unsweetened)
1/2 cup water
DIRECTIONS: Throw all ingredients into your blender and blend until smooth. Add more or less liquid, depending on your consistency preferences. Garnish with a sprinkle of cinnamon and maybe a spoonful of your favorite granola.
